Public Safety (Police and Fire)

I have said many times that a City can have the most wonderful parks, and the best roads, and amazing businesses, and … well, all other things that we’d all desire in our town.  BUT, if public safety is not the number one priority … if we can’t get a police officer to our homes as fast as possible, or if we can’t have a fire truck or ambulance arrive rapidly to assist us, then all the other amenities and services mean nothing!

To me, our Police Department and Fire Department are the TOP priority in services in the City of The Colony.

There have been many Councilmembers and Mayors that have supported our public safety departments and first responders.  I can assure you that NONE have been a greater supporter than I have been, both while on City Council, as well as before and after!!  And, I have also attended (and graduated) from the Citizens Police Academy (twice) and the Citizens Fire Academy, and have done ride-alongs with both departments over the years.

During my time on City Council, we made great strides to improve our Police and Fire Departments.  We built additional facilities (such as Fire Station 3 on North Colony and the Police Department expansion of the jail and the addition of both the sally port and the shooting range.  I fully supported these improvements and pushed hard to make sure they were funded and built.

As Councilmember, I promise to make sure that our Police and Fire Departments are:

Fully staffed

Well funded

Adequately equipped

Continually trained

I back the BLUEI back the RED and, I will ALWAYS make sure that each and every resident knows that they can count on a police officer when required, and an ambulance or fire truck when needed.  That is the standard that The Colony has worked to meet, and that I commit to continuing to meet.
